We planned and carried out an investigation to find out which material was the most suitable for a waterproof coat. We concluded that the most absorbent material was paper and the most suitable material would be plastic as the water ran off.

Bridge making in 2D…
No pen day Wednesday
No Pens Day Wednesday is a national day where we focus on speaking and understanding skills (it means no pens and no writing ALL DAY!).
In Maths we first of all recapped 2D shapes, then we went into the outside area to collect natural resources before making different shapes with what we had collected.
After that, we played a game that required us to listen very carefully to the properties of a 2D shape before running to find the correct one.

Investigation question:
Which mini beasts would we see outside in Autumn?
We started off by identifying different mini beasts, then we predicted what we might see in our outdoor area. We thought carefully about what we might include in our habitat before making them.
Remembrance Day
Today we have thought about what a poppy symbolises and why it is important. We wrote poems and made poppy’s to mark the occasion. Here is a picture of the finished product!
The Spider Weaver
This week we have been working on our Art project. We read the story of The Spider Weaver and imitated the spider and the weavers by making our own webs. We have used lots of different skills such as mark making, observational drawing, printing, sewing, painting, colour mixing.
Our reading journal…
Our Reading Robin went home with Jacob last week, today he shared his favourite story and has even set the class a challenge for when they get to take it home!
